    Autographed Items

We do not authenticate autographs that were not witnessed by a representative of Hero Grader. Other grading companies, as well as third party COA's, or other documentation will not qualify it's authenticity. The writing on a book will automatically lower the grade, as this is considered a flaw.

    Declared Value

A declared value is required for each and every item that is submitted to us for grading or pressing. A  proper declaration of value is for your protection as this is the maximum compensation you will receive in case of loss or damage. To find an accurate value, we recommend doing a search on Ebay for "sold" items that are the same issue in a similar condition. We do not provide appraisal services, nor estimates on the value of your items. Please keep in mind that over estimating the actual fair market value will not allow you an unrealistic level of compensation.

The maximum value per submitted item can not exceed $5000. If you do send in items of higher value, no compensation would exceed the $5000 cap limit if damage or loss occurs.

    Submission And Grading Process

Once we receive your items, our process involves a thorough and detailed evaluation and step by step process.
A generalized outline of the steps your item(s) will go through once submitted is as follows:

Submission Received – Once your submission has arrived at our facility, they will be unpacked and checked in. Once this stage has been completed, you will receive an invoice via email to confirm that your items appear to have arrived safely and have been checked for accuracy versus the information you included on your submission form. You will then be sent an invoice for payment. Grading or pressing will not start until we have received payment in full.

The Grading Process – Once everything has been logged into the database, we'll start grading your books. You can check for updates every time a stage has been completed. You can click on the "Order Status" link and enter your email address and invoice number.

Final Stage – Once grading has been completed, books have been entered into the database, and packaged for shipping or pickup, you will be notified via email.
